Wilne 10k Road Race

wilne 10k.

On the 4th September 2011, 600 competitors including myself took part inthe inaugural Wilne 10k, this road race was for amateur athletes only and was open to all abilities over a flat, traffic free course. This was my first 10k road race and I finished in a respectable time of 1 hour 5 mins and 55 seeconds.

Apart from wanting to complete the course as quickly as possible it was also an opportunity to show my support for the Alzheimers Society who do so much excellent work for the local and national community.

Below is a picture of myself and the girls before the race started who were doing so much fund raising for the cause.

Although I finished somewhat behind the winners time of 30 minutes and 15 seconds it was a truly fantastic occasion and one I will be repeating next year. Anybody wishing to run next year and support the Alzheimers Society with myself, Roy and Ben please get in touch so we can raise even more money.

For donations and sponsorship to the Alzheimers Society please contact Cathy at cathy.lowe@alzheimer.org.uk
